Our rough sawn planks are just that. Rough sawn. There is no planing or sanding done on these planks and the pics you see of them are as they came out of the mill and kiln.

You will see that some of the planks may have checking and or pith splits in them. These are not calculated in the final board footage and or dimensions of the material. We have
taken careful measurements to make sure you only pay for clear material free of splits or checking. Anything else you receive beyond that is compliments of Greener Lumber.

The planks you see here are sorted by the log they were sawn from so that you can be assured of consistent grain and color when purchasing multiple planks.

We have also changed the method for photographing Greener Lumber material. Our web guru and purveyor of all things "geeky" has come up with a method allowing us to photograph sections of a plank up close and then stitch them together using special software. You will notice that all our photos now show both sides of the plank and when you choose to view the larger picture by clicking on the photo, prepare yourself for a REALLY CLOSE view. You will notice some darker bands running across the planks which has to do with the lighting when the photos are taken. It's a little problem I'm working on and has nothing to do with the stitching of the photos but with my lack of photography expertise. We're working on it and I'm sure it will get better over time.

Prices for plank material are per Plank Only. I know this is a change for some of you who have purchased plank material before but the process was just too labor intensive. We will be putting up smaller quantities of material on our Bits and Pieces page and for you guitar builders out there we are setting up a Luthier Parts page that will be available soon.

If you prefer to purchase finished lumber please see our "S2S Sawn Boards" page.
